Day 1 Arrival in Luoyang

White Horse Temple, Luoyang Museum, Lijing Gate, Luoyang Old Street

Your tour guide and driver meet and greet you at the railway station or hotel lobby, then start off by visiting White Horse Temple with a history of 1,900 years, it is regarded as the 'No. 1 Ancient Temple under Heaven'. It was built in the Western Han Dynasty to enshrine the white horses that carried the Buddhist scriptures and statues brought back from India. Later, head to Luoyang Museum which demonstrates the colorful culture and history of the ancient capital with over 100 exhibits ranging from prehistoric times to the Sui and Tang dynasty. Marvel at the world-famous Tang Tri-colored Pottery in the museum before enjoying delicious lunch. Afterwards, enjoy shopping and explore local snacks at Lijing Gate and Luoyang Old Street, experience the history trace in daily life. At last, be transferred back to the hotel.

Longmen Grottoes, Guanlin Temple, Chariot and Horse Pits

Your driver and guide will pick you up from hotel in the morning. On this day, immerse in Longmen Grottoes and browse through so many caves, statues, 70 stupas in vivid and exquisite craftsmanship. After lunch, go to Guanlin Temple, get to know the history of Three Kindom and famous general Guanyu, later marvel at the unparallel imperial tomb of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty (about 2,200 to 2,700 years ago), exhibiting the remains of 2 sets of ancient chariots and horses at Chariot and Horse Pits. At last, transfer back to the hotel.

Shaolin Monastery, Mount Song

After breakfast, you are taken to visit Shaolin Monastery, situated at Mount Song which is the most reputable and the oldest temple in China, being the birthplace of Shaolin Kung Fu that is the essence of Chinese martial arts. After having a look at the Kung Fu performance acted by the monks in the Monastery, you will be escorted to railway station for leaving or Luoyang hotel.

Yes everything was spectacular and fascinating very professional and prompt services. There were beautiful places to explore and to see in the 4 hours that we had. The comfort and beauty of the China was incredible, The history, culture and way of life of the local people we bumped into during the layover was beyond our expectations. Hiking on the Great wall after driving through a small remote countryside was very relaxing and rejuvenating. It was the best trip ever to experience on a few hours.

We had not previously used a travel agency for touring. The crew including the driver and tour guide were really funny, friendly and knowledgeable. Despite having limited time we still had free time allowing for shopping and grabbing a meal and drinks. Highly recommend this layover in Beijing.

Well worth it! Jenny was really nice and incredibly helpful with the immigration process after airport personnel originally escorted to the wrong area and didn’t want to allow leaving the airport. She takes great photos! Beautiful views and fun to take the toboggan down. Wasn’t too crowded on this day - and definitely worth doing with a 7 hour layover. Nice car and driver too.

He speaks good English and very patient. He knows his stuff. I visited West Lake , Buddhist temple and the Pagoda. An additional transfer fee will be incurred if your hotel is outside the above mentioned area. If your hotel is located in a narrow lane or an apartment block, we suggest you find the nearest hotel on the main street as your pick-up point.
