Day 1 Arrival in Guiyang, Guiyang-Kaili by Private Vehicle

Welcome to the capital of Guizhou province-Guiyang. Your friendly tour guide and driver will pick you up at the railway station or airport in Guiyang then enjoy 3 hours scenic drive to Kaili and help you check in a local hotel.

Recommend activity: if time permits, you can visit local minority museum.

Day 2 Kaili-Taijiang County-Kaili by Private Vehicle

Fanpai Miao Village, Fangzhao Village

After breakfast, drive to Taijing county and visit a local morning market, observe local lifestyle and recognize some vegetables from your local tour guide that you've never seen before. After visiting, transfer to Fanpai Miao Village. Upon arrival, you will hear the melodious Lusheng music and greet with hospitable girls who will serve you with 12 bowls of rice wine. The traditional Diaojiaolou buildings built on the slopes, pass the elegant wind and rain bridge, enjoy the beautiful stream passing through the village. On the square of the village, you will enjoy the exciting wooden drum dance and polyphonic love song which even recorded as the national intangible cultural heritage. After enjoying delicious lunch at a local restaurant, drive to Fangzhao Village. Take a leisurely hike to this beautiful village surrounding by verdant forest and fields of farmland, appreciate Diaojiaolou building scatter on the steep mountain from afar. Inhale the fresh air and enjoy the tranquil environment at your own pace. At last, return to the hotel in Kaili.

Day 3 Kaili-Qingman-Shiqiao-Matang-Kaili by Private Vehicle

Qingman Miao Village, Shiqiao Miao Village, Matang Gejia Village

In the morning, drive to Qingman Miao Village, also called the short skirt village. The inverted S-shaped women's hair on the head is quite unique, tour around the small village and experience the original lifestyle of Miao. Afterward, visit Shiqiao Miao Village, where you will witness how local people making paper with tree’s bark which can be traced back to 1500 years ago in China. Now, this ancient paper-making method even use in the repair of damaged relics. After enjoying delicious lunch at a local family, drive to Matang Gejia Village. The Ge minorities claim themselves as the descendants of Houyi, a hero who shot the sun in Chinese mythologies. Upon arrival, Gejia people dress up and line up at the entry of the village, performing the guest-greeting song and offering rice wine, you will observe unique colorful costumes when comparing to other ethnic groups. Later, enjoy the wonderful performances such as Lusheng dance, bench dance, long songs, wine-toasting song etc. At last, drive back to Kaili.

Gulong Lusheng Festival

After breakfast, drive to Gulong and enjoy the exciting Gulong Lusheng Festival. Girls dress up the beautiful costumes and silver ornaments, while the boys bring the Lusheng, circle in one, blow the Lusheng and start to dance. Thousands of Lusheng blow in an organized way, it looks so magnificent! You will be surprised at the original culture and appealing performance, can't help joining in the hilarious party. After enjoying the delicious lunch, return to Kaili.

Yes everything was spectacular and fascinating very professional and prompt services. There were beautiful places to explore and to see in the 4 hours that we had. The comfort and beauty of the China was incredible, The history, culture and way of life of the local people we bumped into during the layover was beyond our expectations. Hiking on the Great wall after driving through a small remote countryside was very relaxing and rejuvenating. It was the best trip ever to experience on a few hours.

We had not previously used a travel agency for touring. The crew including the driver and tour guide were really funny, friendly and knowledgeable. Despite having limited time we still had free time allowing for shopping and grabbing a meal and drinks. Highly recommend this layover in Beijing.

Well worth it! Jenny was really nice and incredibly helpful with the immigration process after airport personnel originally escorted to the wrong area and didn’t want to allow leaving the airport. She takes great photos! Beautiful views and fun to take the toboggan down. Wasn’t too crowded on this day - and definitely worth doing with a 7 hour layover. Nice car and driver too.

He speaks good English and very patient. He knows his stuff. I visited West Lake , Buddhist temple and the Pagoda.
