Day 1 Huangshan-Chizhou by Pravite Vehicle

Jiuhua Mountain

The tour guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel in Huangshan City in the morning, then drive around 2.5 hours to Jiuhua Mountain, it names like this because nine of its peaks are similar to lotus blooms. Take your time at its tranquil scenery dotted with sacred Buddhist temples and misted with the smoke of burning joss sticks giving it a unique appeal. Don't miss the sheer peaks and numerous temples where monks and nuns live here.

Stop for a tasty lunch then start to visit Jiuhua Mountain Scenic Area, you will visit Huacheng Temple, the most historical temple in Mount Jiuhua and is said to be the ashram of Dizang bodhisattva. You can walk or take the optional cable car to Longevity Palace, be surprised at the sacred Bodhisattva remains, enjoy vivid like 500 Buddha statues in the hall and overlook the sleeping Buddha sculpture. Be transferred to the hotel for rest.

Take the sightseeing bus to Heavenly Terrace Scenic Area, you can choose to walk or take the cable car the highest peak of Mount Jiuhua, enjoy lush greens, the abrupt and grotesque rocks and explore grand Taitai Temple. Descend down and move to Hall of Sacred Remains, where stores the Golden Dizang bodhisattva remains, and listen to legendary stories from your tour guide, experience sacred Buddhist culture. After lunch, you’ll be sent to railway station or airport at Chizhou or return or Huangshan city at your preference.

Yes everything was spectacular and fascinating very professional and prompt services. There were beautiful places to explore and to see in the 4 hours that we had. The comfort and beauty of the China was incredible, The history, culture and way of life of the local people we bumped into during the layover was beyond our expectations. Hiking on the Great wall after driving through a small remote countryside was very relaxing and rejuvenating. It was the best trip ever to experience on a few hours.

We had not previously used a travel agency for touring. The crew including the driver and tour guide were really funny, friendly and knowledgeable. Despite having limited time we still had free time allowing for shopping and grabbing a meal and drinks. Highly recommend this layover in Beijing.

Well worth it! Jenny was really nice and incredibly helpful with the immigration process after airport personnel originally escorted to the wrong area and didn’t want to allow leaving the airport. She takes great photos! Beautiful views and fun to take the toboggan down. Wasn’t too crowded on this day - and definitely worth doing with a 7 hour layover. Nice car and driver too.
