Day 1 Shanghai-Jiaxing-Shanghai by Private Vehicle
Nanxun Water Town, Wuzhen Water Town
Today, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Shanghai in the morning, then drive 2 hours to Nanxun Water Town. You'll visit Little Lotus Garden. This garden was the private garden of one of the richest merchants in Nanxun. It took the merchant and his descendants 40 years to complete the project of designing the garden. Then sightsee Former Residence of Zhang Shiming which enjoys a reputation of the best ancient compound in the South Yangtze River Area. Explore Liu Family Compound and One-Hundred Residential Houses etc before enjoying your delicious lunch. Take a short break in the car when heading to Wuzhen Water Town. After arrival, stop at the Hundred-Bed Museum, the first museum in China to collect and exhibit ancient beds of the Jiangnan area. The Folk Custom Museum displays scenes from local ceremonies, including weddings, birthday parties and funerals. Engage yourself in a unique display of Chinese performing arts - the shadow play show. This is an exceptional storytelling experience as the characters are handmade leather puppets behind a screen with a cast light upon them forming silhouettes. Then visit the Hongyuan Thai dye house to see the time-honored art of making indigo-dyed printed calico. Sightsee Wood Carving Museum then go to Maodun Former Residence, a famous writer in China. In the late afternoon, go to the west part and check in the Wuzhen Tong'an Inn.
Free activity on your own at night! Take a leisurely walk around the town and appreciate the charming night view of Wuzhen, shimmering lanterns and river surface, arched bridges, floating boats, happy tourists are in the beautiful Chinese painting landscape.

After breakfast, start your exciting exploration tour from Changxu Soy Sauce Shop famous for ancient traditional brewing methods, Zhaoming School and Three-inch Golden Lotuses Museum to learn Chinese culture. As the saying says, no visit to a water town will be complete without taking a boat ride (optional) down the river. Enjoy the sights of the old town and see people going about their daily lives. After enjoying lunch served at the riverside, go to Xitang Water Town or Fengjing Water Town for your preferences.
