Day 1 Arrival in Datong
Yungang Grottoes, Huayan Monastery, Datong Nine Dragon Screen
Today, by picked up at the railway station or hotel in Datong, first stop is Yungang Grottoes; one of China's three best-known UNESCO-listed and historical Buddhist sculptural sites consisting of 252 cliffside grottoes and niches, more than 51,000 statues and depictions of Buddha. Marvel at those fascinating ancient grottoes which reveal the story of past glory. Afterward enjoy your delicious lunch and continue to visit Huayan Monastery which is the largest and best-preserved monastery of the Liao Dynasty in China; unique in its nature as it faces the east instead of the south. Later on, have a tour of the Datong Nine Dragon Screen; the oldest and largest glazed screen in China with nine vivid dragons in different shapes.

Hanging Temple, Yingxian Wooden Pagoda
The day starts off with an early morning pick up from the hotel followed by a short drive to the outskirts about 70 km from downtown Datong to visit the Hanging Temple. Get acquainted with the temple that hangs on the west cliff of Jinxia Gorge more than 50 meters above the ground. Afterwards, drive 1 hour to Yingxian Wooden Pagoda. The Pagoda is made of wood without a single nail and has survived from many earthquakes. At last, send back to the hotel in Datong.

Day 3 Datong-Pingyao Ancient City by Train
Your private driver will send you off at the railway station then enjoy the beautiful scenery on the train. Upon arrival, be transferred to the local hotel. Free activity in the evening!
