Introduction 

Originally built during Ming Dynasty and reconstructed several times again until the recent year 2001 reconstruction. The tower is made up of three floors with the the square table foundation made from bricks and the first floor completely set aside for Guanyin. On the second floor stands a three hundred pound iron bell measuring 1.4 meters by 2.3 meters. The fortification can be accessed from four different directions through its arched gates through four streets of the boutique street (east gate), antique street (north gate) and the flavor street (south gate).

A tour in this area grants you the opportunity to ascend the tower for free to get a comprehensive and beautiful view of the city and also ring the bell located there. In addition to this you may also get to view exhibits that are sometimes displayed inside the tower. The whole visit itself takes you back in time during the Ming and Qing dynasty in terms of architecture by the use of traditional Chinese wood carving and stone work which are really fascinating.

The area around the drum tower is a beehive of activities and a visit is not complete without enjoying the local meals in dedicated restaurants in the area. You can also shop and browse for souvenirs in the area that is divided into sections for antiques goods, ceramics and jewelry.
