Baisha Ancient Town, Lijiang Impressions Show, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, White Water River　

The tour guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel at 9 am. It takes around 30 minutes to reach Baisha Ancient Town, which is around 9 miles (15 kilometers) away from Lijiang city. Naxi ethnic group was originally settled here from the Southern Song Dynasty over eight centuries ago. The special aesthetic style and impressive historic details of the mural deeply attract travelers from home and abroad.

After lunch, you will watch the largest outdoor scene "Lijiang Impressions Show" directed by famous movie director Yimou Zhang. The show lasts for 70 minutes. The show has jade dragon mountain as the real acting background scene, which made us absorb the spirit from both earth and heaven, and feel like the source of our human being is a marvelous achievement from the god. The show really makes every audience feel so close to nature and real life. The site for the show also entitled as the national cultural industry demonstration base.

After the show, you will visit Yunshanping by 5 minutes cable car after 15 minutes shuttle bus ride. You will stroll in the virgin forest for 40 minutes and look at the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain far apart while breathing fresh air. The main peak of the mountain is measured at 17,000 feet above sea level. The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is in the form of a gigantic dragon clad in white snow all year round. It is consist of a small group of peaks close to the city of Lijiang. After that, you will be taken downhills by cable car.

Next, you will be taken to the White Water River which is gathered by the melting snow water from Jade Snow Mountain. It has color clear dark-green, but the river bed is made by crushed grey-white limestone, and it is the reason for the name "White Water River". In the sunshine, the water is in color blue but the valley is in the shape of the moon. White Water River looks like a blue moon set at the foot of Jade Snow Mountain, hence it has another name "Blue Moon Valley". The water contains a large amount of bronze ion which makes white water and blue river. For this reason, the White Water River got another name "Little Jiuzhaigou" for showing the beauty of this river. The tour comes to an end with a transfer to the hotel.

Yes everything was spectacular and fascinating very professional and prompt services. There were beautiful places to explore and to see in the 4 hours that we had. The comfort and beauty of the China was incredible, The history, culture and way of life of the local people we bumped into during the layover was beyond our expectations. Hiking on the Great wall after driving through a small remote countryside was very relaxing and rejuvenating. It was the best trip ever to experience on a few hours.

We had not previously used a travel agency for touring. The crew including the driver and tour guide were really funny, friendly and knowledgeable. Despite having limited time we still had free time allowing for shopping and grabbing a meal and drinks. Highly recommend this layover in Beijing.
