Day 1 Arrival in Lijiang

Lijiang Old Town, Mu's Residence, Wangu Tower 　

After arrival in Lijiang airport, meet your local tour guide and the driver then be taken to enjoy the famous Lijiang Old Town with well-maintained ancient street and featured architecture. It is also one of the starting points of the Tea-horse Ancient Road, it has a variety of ethnic customs and entertainment activities, such as Naxi ancient music and Dongba rite, divination culture, and Naxi torch festival. In the afternoon, explore Mu's Residence, which has combined the architecture of Ming dynasty, Bai and Naxi ethnic groups. At last, you will have a panoramic view of the town in the sunset from Wangu Pavilion on Small Lion Hill.

Day 2 Lijiang

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Lijiang Impressions Show, White Water River

The driver and tour guide will pick you up from the hotel. Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is the first place you will visit today. Take the shuttle bus and cable car up. After that, you will stroll in the virgin forest and look at Jade Dragon Snow Mountain far apart while breathing fresh air. The main peak of the mountain is measured at 17,000 feet above sea level. After that, you will be taken down by cable car.

After lunch, you will be taken to watch the largest outdoor scene "Lijiang Impressions Show" directed by famous movie director Yimou Zhang. The show lasts for 70 minutes. It has Jade Dragon Snow Mountain as the real acting background scene, the show makes you feel to absorb the spirit from both earth and heaven, and feel like the source of our human being is a marvelous achievement from the god. Afterward, go to White Water River, the color of the water seems like blue, rippling glamourous lighting in the water terraces.

Shuhe Ancient Town, Baisha Ancient Town, Black Dragon Pool

Go to Shuhe Ancient Town, walk on the ancient bridges, enjoy the tranquil town, explore the history of the Ancient Tea Horse Road in the museum, enjoy dance performance on the square. After lunch, move to Baisha Village, the political, economic and cultural center of Lijiang in the ancient time. It preserved the original Nanxi culture, enjoy colorful mural paintings and take a leisurely stroll around the ancient town. At last, pay a visit to Black Dragon Pool before transferring back to the hotel. Immerse yourself in the charming scenery of the shadow of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain on the crystal pool.

Yes everything was spectacular and fascinating very professional and prompt services. There were beautiful places to explore and to see in the 4 hours that we had. The comfort and beauty of the China was incredible, The history, culture and way of life of the local people we bumped into during the layover was beyond our expectations. Hiking on the Great wall after driving through a small remote countryside was very relaxing and rejuvenating. It was the best trip ever to experience on a few hours.

We had not previously used a travel agency for touring. The crew including the driver and tour guide were really funny, friendly and knowledgeable. Despite having limited time we still had free time allowing for shopping and grabbing a meal and drinks. Highly recommend this layover in Beijing.

Well worth it! Jenny was really nice and incredibly helpful with the immigration process after airport personnel originally escorted to the wrong area and didn’t want to allow leaving the airport. She takes great photos! Beautiful views and fun to take the toboggan down. Wasn’t too crowded on this day - and definitely worth doing with a 7 hour layover. Nice car and driver too.
