Day 1 Kunming-Yuanyang by Private Vehicle

Yuanyang Rice Terraces

Your private tour guide will pick you up at your hotel lobby, then drive around 5.5 hours to Yuanyang. After enjoying palatable lunch, you will be led to Hani Village where are original rural buildings, such as mushroom house, historic ditches, to experience ethnic culture and tradition of Hani people. Later, visit Yuanyang Rice Terraces distributed in deep valleys, like blue waves in the sky under the sunlight, showing off its charming and attractive landscape tourists. In the evening, you back to the local hotel.

Day 2 Yuanyang-Jianshui County by Private Vehicle

Sunrise, Double-Dragon Bridge

Get up early to take the most beautiful pictures for rice terraces in the flection of sunrise. The water in the terraces reflected blue sky and white clouds, which looks stunning and breathtaking. Standing on the observation platform at Azheke Village, appreciate the mellow green or golden rice terraces, go to Bada scenic area where is the best place for shooting beautiful cloud sea, rice terraces and distinctive Hani’s buildings. It seems like a path to paradise with more than 3700 layers ranges of rice terraces when looking up. While standing on the highest peak, it looks like a shimmering sea of silver on the endless rice terraces under bright sunshine. Later, head to Jianshui on a relaxing 3.5 hours drive. Take a rest before visiting Double-Dragon Bridge which across the intersection of Lu River and Taichong River with three layers of pavilions on the top and 17 holes beneath, and it seems like a big boat floating on the river in a far distance, very historical and splendid. Afterwards, you’ll be sent back to hotel.

Day 3 Jianshui County

Ancient Wells, Jianshui Confucian Temple, Jianshui Ancient Town, Zhu Family Garden, Chaoyang Tower

After breakfast, be mazed at the wisdom from Ancient Wells, local residences still use the water in the well, it tastes well and is a good ingredient for making Tofo. You can try some if you like. Later, explore Confucious culture in the Jianshui Confucian Temple. You can fully take pictures for buildings and learn its related history from your informative tour guide. After lunch, take a leisurely around the Jianshui Ancient Town then go to Zhu Family Garden. It’s a grand mansion with palatial-like clan temple, living rooms and gardens, with effort for 30 years for its completion. Hence it was regarded as the most beautiful garden of southern Yunnan. In the late afternoon, enjoy the sunset at Chaoyang Tower, the landmark of Jianshui County.

Day 4 Jianshui County-Kunming by Private Vehicle

Xianghuiqiao Station, Tuanshan Village, Zhang Family Garden

After breakfast, go to Xianghuiqiao Station which is the French building made a French engineer, although it has been abandoned, you still experience the unique French style and it's a good place to take photos. Go to Tuanshan Village, take a leisurely walk on the stone steps, enjoy the exquisite and vivid wooden carving. Relax in the ancient village, enjoy the small courtyard, ancient wells and buildings. Later, go the Zhang Family Garden, the biggest mansion in Tuanshan Village. Drive back to Kunming after lunch.

Yes everything was spectacular and fascinating very professional and prompt services. There were beautiful places to explore and to see in the 4 hours that we had. The comfort and beauty of the China was incredible, The history, culture and way of life of the local people we bumped into during the layover was beyond our expectations. Hiking on the Great wall after driving through a small remote countryside was very relaxing and rejuvenating. It was the best trip ever to experience on a few hours.

We had not previously used a travel agency for touring. The crew including the driver and tour guide were really funny, friendly and knowledgeable. Despite having limited time we still had free time allowing for shopping and grabbing a meal and drinks. Highly recommend this layover in Beijing.

Well worth it! Jenny was really nice and incredibly helpful with the immigration process after airport personnel originally escorted to the wrong area and didn’t want to allow leaving the airport. She takes great photos! Beautiful views and fun to take the toboggan down. Wasn’t too crowded on this day - and definitely worth doing with a 7 hour layover. Nice car and driver too.

He speaks good English and very patient. He knows his stuff. I visited West Lake , Buddhist temple and the Pagoda.
