Lijiang Old Town, also called Dayan Old Town, is a well-preserved ancient town for Naxi ethnic group. Old Town of Lijiang was listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997, including Dayan Old Town, Shuhe Old Town and Baisha Old Town. It is one of the four best-preserved ancient cities in China.

Day 1 Arrival in Kunming

Day 2 Kunming-Dali by Bullet Train

Stone Forest, Flower and Bird Market, Kunming Green Lake Park

At 08:30 am, meet your tour guide at the hotel and then drive about 85km to the Stone Forest. In the afternoon, drive back to Kunming and visit Flower and Bird Market. Then stroll around Kunming Green Lake Park. In the evening, take a bullet train to Dali. Meet your local guide and driver, then transfer to hotel for overnight.

Day 3 Dali

Dali Ancient City, Foreigner Street, Ancient City Wall of Dali, Gate Tower, Chongsheng Three Pagodas, Xizhou Ancient Town, Haishe Park, Erhai Lake, Zhoucheng Village

In the morning, explore Dali Ancient City including Foreigner Street, the Ancient City Wall of Dali and the Gate Tower. Then drive to visit Chongsheng Three Pagodas.

In the afternoon, transfer to Xizhou Ancient Town. Walk around this old town to see Bai ethnic traditional architecture. Taste local three-course tea in Xizhou. Afterward, drive to Haishe Park to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Erhai Lake. After that, drive to Zhoucheng Village and pay a visit to a local Tie-Dyeing workshop.

Transfer back to the hotel.

Day 4 Dali-Lijiang by Coach

In the morning, drive 3 hours to Lijiang. Upon arrival, visit Black Dragon Pool and Dongba Culture Museum. Then enjoy your free time in Lijiang Old Town.

At 5:00 pm, meet your guide again at Big Waterwheel spot(大水车) in Lijiang Old Town and transfer to the hotel.

In the morning at 09:00 am, visit Baisha Ancient Town and appreciate charming Baisha Murals. Afterward, drive to visit Yuhu Village and Former Residence of Joseph Rock. In the afternoon, transfer to visit Shuhe Ancient Town.

Day 6 Lijiang-Shangri-la by Coach

First Bend of the Yangtze River, Tiger Leaping Gorge, Dukezong Ancient Town, Guishan Hill, Grand Prayer Wheel

In the morning, drive to Qiaotou Town. On the way, have a view of the First Bend of the Yangtze River from afar and drive to Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge and stop for 5 minutes for photographs.

Then go on driving to Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge for hiking (about 3 hours). Hike from a place named “14km” to Tina’s Guesthouse.

In the afternoon at 3:30 pm, drive to Shangri-la. Upon arrival, stroll around Dukezong Ancient Town and walk up to the top of Guishan Hill to see the Grand Prayer Wheel and have a panoramic view of Shangri-La city.

Transfer to the hotel.

Songzanlin Lamasery, Xiaojiezi Village, Napahai Lake

Pick you up at the hotel. Then drive to visit Songzanlin Lamasery and then pay a visit to a local Tibetan village—Xiaojiezi Village and family around the monastery. In the afternoon, transfer to visit beautiful Napahai Lake with fields of green grass.

In the late afternoon, drive back to Shangri-La downtown and drop you off to Moonshine Square(in Chinese: 月光广场). Tour ends.

Yes everything was spectacular and fascinating very professional and prompt services. There were beautiful places to explore and to see in the 4 hours that we had. The comfort and beauty of the China was incredible, The history, culture and way of life of the local people we bumped into during the layover was beyond our expectations. Hiking on the Great wall after driving through a small remote countryside was very relaxing and rejuvenating. It was the best trip ever to experience on a few hours.

We had not previously used a travel agency for touring. The crew including the driver and tour guide were really funny, friendly and knowledgeable. Despite having limited time we still had free time allowing for shopping and grabbing a meal and drinks. Highly recommend this layover in Beijing.

Well worth it! Jenny was really nice and incredibly helpful with the immigration process after airport personnel originally escorted to the wrong area and didn’t want to allow leaving the airport. She takes great photos! Beautiful views and fun to take the toboggan down. Wasn’t too crowded on this day - and definitely worth doing with a 7 hour layover. Nice car and driver too.

I used China tour company to visit Hangzhou on on feb 7th. It’s a private tour. The experience is very pleasant and enjoyable. Tour guide Mr. Mark Zhou was very good. He speaks good English and very patient. He knows his stuff. I visited West Lake , Buddhist temple and the Pagoda. The tour was very enjoying and place (Hangzhou) is a must to see if you wish to enjoy the nature and Chinese culture and tradition. I recommend it to every one visiting China.
