Ancient Town of Fenghuang

It is one of the most important tourist destinations in Hunan and one of 4A-rated tourist attractions. It was praised as the most beautiful town in China by renowned New Zealand writer Rewi Alley. There are 28 minorities, so you will learn local traditional culture and view beauty as the same time.

1)Shen Congwen's Former Residence

Shen Congwen  has written "Bian Cheng" which was base on this town as the model sample. This building is quadrangle courtyard which has typical architecture style of Ming and Qing dynasty. It was regarded as Confucius temple once, attracting millions of literature fans to visit. The building places many precious pictures which recorded Mr. Shen's life. And you can buy his books to read how he describe this beautiful town.

2) Huilongge Stilted Buildings

It's one of ancient architecture full of Miao minority architecture feature, fronting ancient road, lifting on Tuojiang river. It has two layers, which built from across wood structure. The upper layer is very broad, but the structure of lower layer is very complex and irregular, which forms a unique scenery.

3) Tuojiang Jumping Stones & Tuojiang River rafting at night

Total length of Tuojiang Jumping Stoness about 100 meters, in total 15 stones in the river. It was a main road to enter ancient town of Fenghuang and was built in 1704. Standing on these stones, you are in the center of Tuojiang, so you have the best place to take photographs for the river, Stilted Buildings and rafting boats.

Besides, rafting on Tuojiang River at night is a wonderful activity, you can view the colorful lamp reflecting on the river, the surrounding architectures, and you can listen songs from boater and other local people. I bet you can shoot many beautiful pictures.

4) Qiliang Cave

The cave looks like a dragon with a big mouth which is 50 meters high, 20 meters wide. The total length is about 6km. There are five scenic area: ancient battlefield, gallery, paradise, dragon palace, ying yang river. In the cave, it gathers mountains, rivers, valleys, beached, cliffs, waterfalls, forest and etc, and it features by four perspectives, everything arranges perfectly, you will think it's dream land setting against colorful lamps.
